We are excited to present organic black teas from the highlands of Colombia. The garden from where we sourced our tea has been growing tea for around 50 years. In 2013 they switched to orthodox manufacturing process with technical help from Darjeeling tea growers. Grown in rich volcanic soil of west Andean mountains at elevations 1800-2000m - comparable to some of the highest tea growing elevations of Asia - this Colombian black tea has a lovely complexity and a refined smoothness. It is also certified Organic!
DRY TEA: Long, dark grey wiry leaves with moderate level of tips. Clean and uniform reflecting a high quality picking. Aroma of chocolate and dark raisins with hints of pepper.
INFUSION: Dark mahogany leaves with nose of blackberry, cacao and white pepper.
CUP: A rich russet liquor with notes of cacao, caramel and roasted nuts. Silky smooth.

I bought several of your teas for my husband in the summer when I was visiting in Rochester. He is a real tea connoisseur. He has a tall cupboard full of teas from around the world. When he had finished the teas in October , he was pining for some more and even though the postage to Canada is atrocious- I tool pity on him and ordered some more. The smile of contentment on his face over his morning cuppa was all worth it. I think it is the care with which you prepare your teas that comes through in the taste of your teas. PS I ordered myself some of your Spring Sonata which I adore as well.
This is a very smooth black tea with a subtle hint of nuttiness and caramel. It's great for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it the past few weeks!
