Baozhong, also known as Pouchong, is a lightly oxidized oolong that has a delicate body richly fragrant with floral notes. Our Baozhong comes with a light roasting, yielding multiple of cups of smooth slightly creamy liquor.
The floral notes recall jasmine. A slight bite on the edges that is mellowed out by a sweet aftertaste. Well-balanced, rounded tea with a purity of flavors that has a "cleansing" effect.

I am really enjoying this tea. I have been primarily brewing it gong fu style and seem to be able to get a solid five steeps out of it. Great floral flavor with a hint of tropical fruit for me. Will buy again!
Thank you for your feedback, Evan! Glad you're enjoying the Baozhong, and the pu-erhs! Here's to many more good cups of tea!
I went into Leaf Tea Bar in the South Wedge and Alyssa was wonderful! She helped answer my questions about the Baozhong and helped to describe the tea perfectly. I am an avid tea drinker and was impressed by her beautiful skills of whipping up an impressive matcha when I was there and thinking about the teas to buy. There was no grittiness, it was light and vibrant, and she explained each step to me as I have tried and been unsuccessful in duplicating the process at home. The Baozhong is of supreme quality and absolutely was floored by Alyssa’s customer service! I watched her interact with customers and you could see that she made them feel at ease due to the fact that she was observant, but not overbearing. She answered questions about teas and made sure that each experience for each tea drinker was personalized. I travel all over the world and always remember exceptional customer service and Alyssa displayed that at Leaf and with the purchase of my Baozhong. Alyssa is definitely one of those people who builds a relationship with customers and understands what their needs are without forcing her own opinion. It’s not just selling tea, it’s selling connections, relationships, and conversations and Alyssa understands that. Good find with Alyssa and absolutely beautiful Baozhong!
Nice mild tea. Very enjoyable. Reports say it helps with weight loss—one can hope! :)
Good taste but not as strong as I had hoped. You have great tea!
The service was excellent as always! The tea went to Seattle with my son. The tea I purchased, the Houjicha is amazing. Roasted aroma, and the freshest Houjicha I have ever had. My co-workers are jealous when I make it.
