Keemun Black Tea Hao Ya B (Organic)

11 reviews
Sold out

Among the finest grades of Organic Keemun, this black tea has an earthy character with a smokey-honey sweetness. The dry leaf is clean, small, wiry and with abundant golden tips. It is excellent straight or with milk and sweetener.

Organic Keemun black tea is made from the local cultivar 槠叶种 (Zhu-ye-zhong). It is this particular bush, and the terroir that gives Keemun black tea its distinctive flavor. Notably, many of the higher quality English Breakfast blends include Keemun as the primary tea.

   1 tsp to a 8 oz cup

   3-5 mins

Milk and sugar optional

Keemun black tea comes from Qimen county in Anhui province. (Keemun is the anglicized version of Qimen). It is relatively a newer black tea. As the story goes, it was formulated in 1875 by a civil servant who was seeking a new vocation after losing his job. He was following his father’s advice in learning a skill rather than depending on “precarious officialdom” for a living. Before Keemun black tea started to be manufactured, Anhui province only made green tea.

Smokey Keemun

I like to drink strong earthy tea (no pun intended) because I grew up drinking cheap puerh during dim sum and later on with strong coffee. I love this Keemun tea. If you're yang person, then this tea is for you. For the yin person, it may be too strong for you in my opinion.

Yunnan Old Bush

Lovely, rich cup of tea, exactly what is wanted in tea. Thoroughly enjoyed also the Andean Black Premier. Happy Earth makes it easy and fun to try new teas — generous samples of other teas are included. If feels personal and inviting. I will keep trying new teas, although the Yunnan Old Bush is my favorite.

Favorite Morning cup

Favorite, reliable morning cup. I used to be a faithful coffee drinker, but when I dropped coffee and started to drink tea, I was looking for a full flavor, stronger tea to replace that morning cup of Java. This tea satisfies me the way coffee did. It’s bolder, stronger and starts my morning on a positive, energized note.

Ceylon Black Tea

I usually buy the Lipton Yellow Brand Ceylon loose tea and the Ahmad Ceylon loose tea. After trying the Ceylon Black Tea from Happy Earth, I now know what fresh Ceylon loose tea taste like with the aroma and the taste in my mouth. I recommend the Ceylon Black Tea from Happy Earth if you're a Ceylon tea drinker. I finished all my Ceylon and now on to my next adventures with other loose teas that I purchased from Happy Earth.

Keemun Hao Ya B

This is my absolute favorite tea from Happy Earth! I love the warm and toasty flavor, its notes of smokiness and honey sweetness, and its lovely, rich body. I really enjoy it either straight or with a little honey stirred in.
