DESCRIPTION

Houjicha is a bancha grade organic Japanese green tea (leaf and stems) that have been roasted. The tea yields a warm nutty cup with notes of cocoa and barley. 

The practice of roasting in porcelain vessel over charcoal fire started in the 1920s in Japan. The tea is considered to be lower in caffeine and can be enjoyed during later hours of the day.
