Happy Woman Herbal Tea

Happy Woman Herbal Tea

That name never fails to draw the attention of the crowd. When I decided to call this herbal tea (tisane for the purists) Happy Woman Tea it never occurred to me that it would become such a draw for the crowd. And happily - for both me and them - it also is quickly rising to become our best seller herbal blend!

Passers by at the Rochester Public Market, where we are on Saturdays, invariably slows down or stops outright when they spot the label (which is, by the way, the work of our dear friend Jennifer Rampe, an art-director and award-winning designer). Women point them out to their friends, mothers and daughters to each other, husbands to their wives or vice-versa. One thing is for sure they do not fail to smile or giggle. I love that.

They come up and ask, so will this make me happy? I tell them that is the intent. I overhear men tell their wives, "Hey, hon you could do with that!" And they laugh. Some men have even bought it to give it to their colleague as a joke. Now I never saw that coming!

But seriously what's in this tea and what is it supposed to do? Here are the ingredients of this tea: peppermint leaf, nettle leaf, raspberry leaf, ginger root, dandelion leaf, oatstraw, horsetail, chamomile flowers, rose petals, and a pinch of stevia. This traditional blend is supposed to help women maintain their hormonal balance. All the ingredients are from organic and fairtrade sources. The cup itself tastes minty, floral and earthy.

Now I know for a lot of women this is not an issue,  but I have also known far too many for whom it is a regular struggle.

And here is what an elderly woman told me when I explained to her about the tea. "You don't need tea to be happy, you need age." Yes, provided you have along the way  collected more wisdom than regrets.

We would love you to try our herbal teas. However, please do note that the claimed benefits of our blends have not been verified by the Food and Drug Administration. Our information is not supposed to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. And do consult your doctor before using herbs, especially if you are already take medication.
