Moringa leaf comes from moringa oleifera, a tree native to South Asia. It is used widely in Ayurvedic medicine to balance the doshas. The Moringa fruit pod makes for a popular vegetable and its other parts including leaves are used as an ingredient in both Ayurvedic and Unani medicine. 

It is prescribed in traditional medicine for diabetes, inflammation, improving digestion, headaches and to bolster lactation.
