Happy Earth Tea is about the interconnectedness of the earth, as reflected in the lives of its founders: Niraj Lama is from India and co-founder, Mary Boland is from the US. We take issues of sustainability and conservation of earth's resources seriously. When we are procuring our teas and sending them to our customers, one of our main consideration is how will it help to preserve our blue earth and its beauty for our children for those yet unborn generations.

We believe that the power of tea is enormous. It is mankind’s oldest beverage. It has fueled empires and caused revolutions. And now we are intent upon using its power for good to create a happy earth!

Ama Foundation

Happy Earth Tea supports Ama Foundation, a non-profit foundation that funds Ama Ghar, one of the most highly accredited homes for abandoned and disadvantaged children in Nepal, by donating 10% of the proceeds from
Happy Earth's Nepali teas to their cause.

Some of the children housed at Ama Ghar (Mother's Home).

Located just outside Kathmandu, Ama Ghar houses 50 children who have been rescued from trafficking, poverty, malnutrition and abuse. The children live as a large and loving family, and they are given healthy food, medical care and the highest level of education they can attain. For example, one recent Ama Ghar graduate is a doctor, one a nurse and many of the older children are enrolled in university studying architecture, engineering and I.T.

So when you enjoy our delicious Nepali teas, you are helping us to make a better world, one child at a time!
