Gyokuro Organic Green Tea
Gyokuro is one of Japan's most prized green teas, celebrated for its deep umami, gentle sweetness, and remarkably rich mouthfeel.
Our organic Gyokuro comes from Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, where we source tea from Osada Tea, one of our principal Japanese tea producers. We have personally visited their tea gardens and operations, gaining a deeper appreciation of the care and craftsmanship behind their teas.
Unlike most Japanese green teas, Gyokuro is grown under shade before harvest. This distinctive cultivation method contributes to its savory depth, smooth character, and lingering sweetness.
In the cup, our Gyokuro reveals delicate grassy notes, pronounced umami, and a silky, almost buttery texture. It is a tea to savor slowly, rewarding careful preparation with remarkable depth and complexity.

STEEPING TIPS
1 tbsp (4 gm) for a 4-5 oz hohin or kyusu (tea pot)
124°F (We recommend using lukewarm water and longer steeping time. This brings out the sweetness better in the tea.) For second steep use 140°F.
first steep 3 mins, second steep 3 mins
While the above is the manufacturer's recommended way to steep this tea, you can also use 3 gm of tea to 8 oz of cup and steep it for 2 mins (first steep), 3 mins (second steep) using water at 176°F.
