Grown in the misty mountains of Alishan, Taiwan, this spring harvest of Jin Xuan is wonderfully fresh and fragrant. The tightly rolled leaves unfurl to release an abundance of floral aroma, with the bright, clean character that makes high-mountain Taiwanese oolongs so captivating.

The cup is smooth and supple, opening with notes of fresh spring flowers and sweet green vegetation. Jin Xuan is often known for its naturally creamy character, and here that softness gives the tea a lovely rounded texture without overwhelming its floral clarity. A gentle sweetness lingers through the finish, making each infusion feel fresh, graceful, and remarkably easy to drink.

Successive steepings reveal more of the tea’s mountain character—floral, sweet, and quietly complex, with a refreshing finish that invites another cup.

MORE DETAILS

Jin Xuan, also known Milk Oolong, or just #12 (it was the 12th cultivar to be developed by Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Services in the 1980s) has light flowery and creamy notes. The latter is why the tea is called Milk Oolong.
