Ginger has traditionally been used in Ayurveda to improve digestion and remove toxins. It is supposed to revive the body's fire element. Herbalists find that ginger warms the emotions and makes the senses sharper. Ginger's effectiveness as a home-remedy against cough and cold is well known.*

TO MAKE A QUART OF ICE TEA: Put at least 8 tea spoons of tea into a mid-sized vessel. Pour 2 cups of boiling water into it. Cover and add sweetener if desired. Let it steep for around 20 minutes. Strain the tea into a vessel and add 2 cups of cold water. Let cool, and then refrigerate. Pour over ice to serve.
