Lapsang Souchong is a bold and intriguing dark chocolate that brings together the deep, smoky character of a traditional Chinese black tea with the rich, fruity sweetness of fine cacao.
The tea comes from Guadun Village in Tongmuguan, nestled high in China's Wuyi Mountains at an elevation of 1,200 meters. Considered one of the birthplaces of black tea, this historic region is renowned for its traditional smoked Lapsang Souchong.
Harvested from 120-year-old Wuyi Cai Cha tea bushes growing among mist-covered cliffs and ancient forests, the leaves are carefully smoked over pinewood using time-honored methods. Fossa pairs this remarkable tea with cacao from Uganda's Semuliki Forest, creating a chocolate with layers of woodsy smoke, rich cacao, and a lingering fruity sweetness.
An adventurous and memorable treat for lovers of fine tea and dark chocolate.
