Some teas stand out not because they are bold, but because they are quietly refined. This Spring 2023 raw pu-erh is one of them.

Produced from organically grown tea leaves harvested in the mountains of Yunnan, the tea is crafted from the classic one bud and two leaves pluck. After withering and traditional sun-drying, the leaves are carefully compressed into a tea cake that offers exceptional clarity, sweetness, and balance in the cup. Expect a delicate floral aroma, a smooth mouthfeel, and a lingering honey-like finish that invites another infusion.

One of the first things you'll notice is its unusual size. Most pu-erh cakes are pressed as either 100 g or the traditional 357 g cakes. This one weighs 125 g, making it a distinctive format that is both practical and uncommon.

MORE DETAILS

The cake is also pressed remarkably tightly. While we almost always recommend using a pu-erh pick or knife to separate compressed teas, this cake is an exception. The compression allows you to simply snap off a portion by hand without excessive effort. In fact, using a pu-erh knife can sometimes be more challenging than gently breaking it apart yourself.

Whether you're new to raw pu-erh or have enjoyed it for years, this cake offers an elegant expression of young sheng—fresh, floral, naturally sweet, and wonderfully satisfying from the first infusion to the last.
