Genmaicha loose leaf tea is a blend of green tea with toasted brown rice. This organic green tea blend was developed during the Second World War when rice was mixed into tea to make the latter go further. It has become a signature green tea from Japan.
Our organic Genmaicha tea is full-bodied green tea with the savory toasted rice bringing out the sweetness of tea. Can be addictive!

Genmaicha is one of my favorite teas to drink in February/March, and this blend from Happy Leaf Tea is some of the best genmaicha I have tasted. The tea is soothing and smooth, and the perfectly roasted rice gives the tea a warm, nutty flavor that blends wonderfully with the deep richness of the tea. Perfect for a frosty late-winter morning.
my morning tea of choice…LOVE it!
The tea was excellent. So fresh. Motivated me to do some spring cleaning in my tea cabinet. Out with the old and in the the new, because nothing in there matched the quality of Happy Earth Tea.
