Genmaicha is a blend of green tea with toasted brown rice. The blend was developed during the Second World War when rice was mixed into tea to make the latter go further. It has become a signature green tea from Japan.
Our Genmaicha is full-bodied green tea with the savory toasted rice bringing out the sweetness of tea. Can be addictive! Genmaicha pairs well with both savory and sweet foods.
*We thank Cody Kroll, a local artist who specializes in Japanese teaware and scuplture, for allowing us the use of his pottery to present our tea. You can visit his shop at http://www.kumagama.etsy.com
